There Is Something About Dusk

A poem

There's something about dusk

Something about the way the sun and moon behave

Like two star crossed lovers

Who see each other briefly and once again separate

There’s something about the transition

As day changes into the night in a swift

Like two distant coworkers

Who meet each other from afar before taking over the shift

There’s something about the emerging stars

As they gather all around

Like an audience glistening with excitement

As they see the sun get defeated by the moon before being taken down

There’s something about the way the sky turns deep shades of pink

Like a blushing spectator

Who witnesses the darkness and light interlink

There’s something about the peace and quiet at dusk

As if time itself halts mesmerized by the twilight

Saying farewell to the day that has already passed

The world stands in anticipation of the approaching night
