The Park Bench
Short Story
Today had been a bad day. First my car stopped working in the middle of the highway. HIGHWAY. I had to wait an hour for the tow truck to get there. Its almost 45 degree celsius out there, but it sure as hell feels like a 100.
I get home with only one motivation, the only one thing i am looking forward to: to turn up the air conditioner and have a good nap after the stressful day ive had.
As i am about to curl up on the sofa and ready to forget the day the only thing that could potentially make the day even worst happens: The air conditioner stops working.
But i do not panick right away. I turn it off and then turn it on right away – nothing happens.
Nope not going to give up, so i try again. And again. And few more times. I could feel it coming. The panic. My heartbeat started to fasten, i could hear it in my ears. A weird feeling in my stomach coming up to my chest. Then came the sweat.
I could feel the tiny beads of sweat start to form on my forehead, slowly trickling down to my face. Now my face was wet. Oh wait – it wasn’t the sweat that was making my face wet, it was the tears. I had started crying. Not crying – full on bawling.
I had to get out of there. I think i was having a panic attack. It was so hot, i couldn’t breath.
