That Time I Was In Heaven
A Short Story
Feeling the wet sand between her fingers, Saniya lay on the beach mesmerized by the beauty in front of her. She had never felt this. Peaceful was an understatement for what she was feeling. As she felt wet tickle her toes, she realized it was another wave. The water looked like nothing she had ever seen in her entire life. Against the full moon, it seemed to glisten like a thousand stars were hidden beneath it.
Diverting her attention front the peaceful gushing of the water were the majestic mountains to her left. What was so surprising about the mountains was that they were just there, standing tall in all their glory. It was like a painting. Like an enormous canvas covering the entire horizon had been placed in front of her and the painter was God himself. She knew she never wanted to leave this place ever again.
The sky in front of her was the deepest color of Indigo blue- in front of which the stars glittered like a thousand diamonds.
But she knew it was too good to be true, she knew she was having that dream again.
Overwhelmed by the beauty in front of her, Saniya couldn’t ignore the constant stream of goosebumps going down her arms. Like every cell in her body was jumping with excitement and awe from what was in front of it.
