Self Reflection In The Times Of Corona
Let this isolation time help you find yourself
Listening to a bunch of quarantined Italians playing the titanic theme song from their balconies lead me to wonder:
Is our ship really sinking?
Has it come to that already?
Is this how the world ends?
Now whether the world ends or not, one thing we all must ask ourselves:
If I die tomorrow, Am I happy?
Am I content with my life?
Have I done everything I promised myself to accomplish in the year 2020?
If I die tomorrow, will I be at peace?
Well considering the circumstances, you and I cannot roam the streets or fulfill that checklist, but what we can do is be the best version of ourselves today.
Instead of buying a pack of 20–30 sanitizers for ourselves, let's donate those to old homes. As that particular age group is the most at risk to the Corona Virus.
Let us be nice to the family members/roommates we are in quarantine with. Look at your parents, your siblings — really look at them. Notice the changes in their face, their bodies, their personalities that we might have missed in this fast-paced life of ours.
Take out that isle covered with dust in your store and explore yourself. Paint, write, pour your heart out. Discover your self once again. Self-reflect.
Give yourself time.
Look in the mirror and ask yourself:
If I die tomorrow, will I leave behind the best version of myself?
