What is Software Development Lifecycle?
Software Development Lifecycle, also known as Application Development Lifecycle, is comprised of a series of steps starting from the designing of the software to its delivery.
SDLC is especially specific for the IT industry, particularly focusing on product development.
It comprises a framework that divides the software development procedure into multiple steps including:
- Planning
- Analysis
- Design
- Development
- Testing
- Implementation
- Maintenance of the product.
7 steps of Software Development Lifecycle:
1st step: Planning
The first and a very important stage in the SDLC is gathering the requirement. Before moving forward, you need to asses and collect the requirements for the specific project.
This can be done by carrying out thorough discussions and meetings with all the parties involved including the managers and stakeholders, but most importantly the users.
