With the recent accelerating situation between India and Pakistan, there was a point where everyone had thought the two countries would actually go to war.

Living in one of those countries myself, all I could think about was the time I read the novel ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khalid Hosseini.

That novel changed my life.

It changed my perspective on everything. It made me look at my life from a completely different angle.

It crushed me but at the same time made me so thankful for everything i had. For the life I had and for my family.

The first time I read the novel was when I was almost 16 years old.

At that age, it made me relate to the young girl Lailah, who lost lived a normal life with her mother and her father. Lailah being closer to my age, and the fact that she was so close to her father just like I am, made it easier to understand and relate to her story completely.
