Dream Town

A poem about dreams

Right before you fall asleep

You feel everything slow down

Your breathing gets calmer, your heartbeat dims

Everything seems to go on hold, all around

But the voices get louder until you can almost hear your thinking

You start to see images – your brain becomes your playground

You feel what you see, it all seems so real

You start getting invested by the minute – you smile, you frown

This is when you are in the middle of it all

You are not awake but you also aren’t fully down

You are floating between two lands

Closing the door behind you to the conscious world, you move towards dream town
